To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways

For the law will go forth from Zion

Matthew 5:6
6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied."

44 "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and
the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
Matthew 6:5-15
5 "When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues
and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret,
and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
7 And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they
will be heard for their many words.
8 So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9 Pray, then, in this way:
'Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and
the glory forever. Amen.]'
14 For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions."
Matthew 6:33
33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Matthew 7:7-12
7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

you, but My Father who is in heaven.
18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades
will not overpower it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound
in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven."
Matthew 21:22
22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
Matthew 26:26-28
26 While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the
disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you;
28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins."
Matthew 26:29
29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it
new with you in My Father's kingdom."

18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son
and the Holy Spirit,

Mark 9:1
1 And Jesus was saying to them, "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will
not taste death until they see the kingdom of God after it has come with power."

16 He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned."

Luke 6:38
38 "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken
together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."
Luke 18:1-5
1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
2 saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
3 There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my
opponent.'
4 For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect
man,
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she
will wear me out.'"
John 4:39-42
39 From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He
told me all the things that I have done."
40 So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two
days.
41 Many more believed because of His word;
42 and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have
heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."
Acts 1:6-8
6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring
the kingdom to Israel?"
7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own
authority;
8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Acts 2:1-47
1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
2 And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house
where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of
them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was
giving them utterance.
5 Now there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven.
6 And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was
hearing them speak in his own language.
7 They were amazed and astonished, saying, "Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews
and proselytes,
11 Cretans and Arabs—we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God."
12 And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, "What does this mean?"
13 But others were mocking and saying, "They are full of sweet wine."
14 But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: "Men of Judea and all
you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words.
15 For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day;
16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:
17 'And it shall be in the last days,' God says,
'That I will pour forth of my spirit on all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
And your young men shall see visions,
And your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my bondslaves, both men and women,
I will in those days pour forth of my spirit
And they shall prophesy.
19 and I will grant wonders in the sky above
And signs on the earth below,
Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.
20 the sun will be turned into darkness
And the moon into blood,
Before the great and glorious day of the LORD shall come.
21 and it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be
saved.'
22 Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and
wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know—
23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the
hands of godless men and put Him to death.
24 But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be
held in its power.
25 For David says of Him,
'I saw the LORD always in my presence;
For He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken.
26 therefore my heart was glad and my tongue exulted;
Moreover my flesh also will live in hope;
27 because you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
Nor allow your holy one to undergo decay.
28 you have made known to me the ways of life;
You will make me full of gladness with your presence.'
29 Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried,
and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 and so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his
descendants on his throne,
31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor
did his flesh suffer decay.
32 This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses.
33 therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the father the promise
of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear.
34 for it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:
'The LORD said to my Lord,
"Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."'
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and
Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified."
37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,
"Brethren, what shall we do?"
38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness
of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God
will call to Himself."
40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this
perverse generation!"
41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three
thousand souls.
42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of
bread and to prayer.
43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles.
44 And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common;
45 and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might
have need.
46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were
taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day
those who were being saved.
Acts 2:36-41,47
36 "Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and
Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified."

Acts 5:29-32
29 But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross.
31 He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel,
and forgiveness of sins.
32 And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey
Him."
Acts 12:4-16
4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four squads of soldiers to guard him,
intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people.
5 So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God.
6 On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers,
bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison.
7 And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter's
side and woke him up, saying, "Get up quickly " And his chains fell off his hands.
8 And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself and put on your sandals." And he did so. And he said to him,
"Wrap your cloak around you and follow me."
9 And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was
real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
10 When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city,
which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from
him.
11 When Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and
rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting."
12 And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark,
where many were gathered together and were praying.
13 When he knocked at the door of the gate, a servant-girl named Rhoda came to answer.
14 When she recognized Peter's voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced
that Peter was standing in front of the gate.
15 They said to her, "You are out of your mind!" But she kept insisting that it was so. They kept saying,
"It is his angel."
16 But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.
Acts 16:22-25
22 The crowd rose up together against them, and the chief magistrates tore their robes off them and
proceeded to order them to be beaten with rods.
23 When they had struck them with many blows, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to guard
them securely;
24 and he, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the
stocks.
25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were
listening to them;

28 But Paul cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!"
29 And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house.
33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he
and all his household.
34 And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God
with his whole household.
Acts 20:7-12
7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them,
intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.
8 There were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered together.
9 And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as
Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor and was picked up dead.
10 But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, "Do not be troubled, for his life
is in him."
11 When he had gone back up and had broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a long while until
daybreak, and then left.
12 They took away the boy alive, and were greatly comforted.
Acts 20:28
28Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to
shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.
Acts 22:16
16 "Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name."
Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to
the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 6:2-4
2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

Romans 12:1-2,9-21
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,
acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may
prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
9 Let love be without hypocrisy Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.
10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not
be wise in your own estimation.
17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
19 never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance
is mine, I will repay," says the Lord.
20 "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will
heap burning coals on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Corinthians 1:10-13
10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no
divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among
you.
12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas,"
and "I of Christ."
13 Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of
Paul?
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither

20 Therefore when you meet together, it is not to eat the Lord's Supper,
21 for in your eating each one takes his own supper first; and one is hungry and another is drunk.
22 What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame
those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I will not praise you.
23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in
which He was betrayed took bread;
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in
remembrance of Me."
25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do
this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes.
27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of
the body and the blood of the Lord.
28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.
30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong
suffered,
6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a
cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you
may have an abundance for every good deed;
9 as it is written,
"He scattered abroad, He gave to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever."
10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing
and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.
Galatians 3:26-27
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Galatians 5:13
13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the
flesh, but through love serve one another.

opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have
forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Galatians 6:7-10
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the
Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the
household of the faith.
Ephesians 4:1-6
1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which
you have been called,
2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 5:17-21
17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your
heart to the Lord;
20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;
21 and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
Ephesians 5:23
23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the
Savior of the body.
Colossians 2:12

Hebrews 11:4-12

considered Him faithful who had promised.

stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore."
Hebrews 13:15

James 1:2-4

James 1:21-25
21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word
implanted, which is able to save your souls.
22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a
mirror;
24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
25 But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a
forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
James 1:26-27
26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart,
this man's religion is worthless.
27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in
their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
James 2:14-26
14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is
necessary for their body, what use is that?
17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
18 But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I
will show you my faith by my works."
19 You believe that God is one You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;
23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness," and he was called the friend of God.
24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?
26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
1 Peter 2:1-5
1 Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander,
2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to
salvation,
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the
sight of God,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:18
18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now
